THE EVENT:
The Creative Artists Agency (CAA) Task Force will host its 7th Annual Young Hollywood Party on October 8, 2009 at Playhouse in Hollywood. Benefitting 826LA, more than 1,000 entertainment industry professionals, trend setters, and celebrities are invited to help raise money for this worthy cause.THE CAUSE:
For every young hollywood party ticket sold, a notebook will be donated to a student involved in 826LA programs.826LA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students’ ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to students’ future success. With this in mind, we provide in-schools tutoring, assistance with student publications, drop-in tutoring, after-school workshops, and help for English language learners. All of our free programs are challenging and enjoyable and ultimately strengthen each student's power to express ideas effectively, creatively, confidently, and in his or her individual voice.
THE CAA TASK FORCE:
Founded in 2002 by a group of assistants and junior executives, CAA’s Task Force was established as a way for assistants to support local charities and to become more involved in philanthropic activities. Utilizing the power and reach of the entertainment industry, the CAA Task Force works to create positive social change, encourage volunteerism, stimulate public awareness of important issues, and provide in-kind donations. In addition to the CAA Young Hollywood Party, the CAA Task Force runs and participates in monthly service events including the Revlon Run/Walk for Women’s Cancers, AIDS Walk Los Angeles, Heal the Bay beach clean-ups, activities for children and the elderly, and providing lunches for the homeless.* This event is 21 years or older.
